Keep Them Purring
A healthy cat is a happy cat. Don't wait until you think your cat is sick to go to the vet. For one thing, a cat doesn't like people to know when they're ailing. Get Kitty to the vet for check-ups and preventive treatment. Prevent parasites from possessing your purring pal. Even if you have an indoor cat, fleas can find their way to her. Find out about effective prevention methods. If money is a concern, there is health insurance for cats. Look into it.
Feed the Kitty
Kitty sure does love to eat! Her favorite food is meat. Cats need a diet that is low in carbs and high in protein. Your cat is an obligate carnivore. She needs meat. Your cat food should list some form of meat as the first ingredient. They should not have artificial colors, fillers or additives. Every cat has his or her own vitamin needs. Ask your doctor what's best.
Be careful not to overfeed Kitty! This is the most common mistake cat owners make. They equate food with love and give their beloved pet more food than she really needs, and Kitty gleefully eats it. The result is a fat little kitty with a high risk of diabetes, cancer and arthritis. Make sure your cat is getting enough exercise as well.
Cats Just Want to Have Fun
Let Kitty have some fun! Give her places she can climb and claw to her heart's content. Bond with your fur baby by playing with her at least fifteen minutes a day. Even the most domestic of cats likes to hunt. Give her things she can chase and swat around.
